MAT RULES

01

Class Schedule

(Punctuality Is Key, Folks)

Show Up Early: First-timers, be here 15 minutes before class to get set up. We need time to explain why spats need shorts.

No Latecomers: If you're late, no dice. We love you, but rules are rules.

Beginner Classes Only: Visitors can join the 6 PM Beginner Class, Tuesday to Friday.

Weekends? Not for You Yet: Weekend classes are a members-only club. But hey, stick around, and maybe one day, you'll join the weekend warriors.

02

Uniform Rules

(Because This Ain't a Beach)

No Shirtless Shenanigans: Sorry, folks—this isn't Baywatch. Keep your shirts on during training!

Shorts Over Spats: Think of spats like Batman's tights. Cool, but you still need shorts on top!

First-Time Fashion Tips: Rock up in a black t-shirt and black shorts without zips. No flashy zippers; this isn't a fashion runway.

03

Hygiene
(Nobody Likes a Stinky Training Partner)

Keep It Clean: Your gear isn’t just for looks. Wash your belt, rash guard, joint support straps, and gi regularly. A clean gi is a happy gi!

Smell Fresh: Come to the gym showered and ready. Smelling like last night’s pizza isn’t a good look.

Nail It: Keep your fingernails and toenails trimmed. We're here to roll, not to claw each other like wild cats!

04

No Shoes on the Mats
(Or You’re Outta Here!)

Bare Feet Off the Mats: No bare feet roaming around the gym like you're on a beach vacation.

Footwear Rules: Wear sandals or shoes when you're off the mats. Wrestling or grappling shoes are the only kicks allowed on the mats. Hygiene is king, folks!

05

No Training When You're Sick
(Seriously, Don't Be That Person)

Skin Issues? Stay Home: Got a rash, open sore, or skin infection? Love your teammates enough to sit this one out.

Feeling Sick? Stay in Bed: Coughing, sneezing, or feeling under the weather? The gym will survive without you—promise. Get medical advice, recover, and we’ll be here when you’re back to 100%.

06

Train, Don’t Fight

You’re here to learn Jiu-Jitsu, not audition for UFC 300. Slow down, breathe, and leave the “world champion” attitude at the door. Respect your teammates, the gym, and most importantly—don’t try to break anyone in half. We’re here to learn, not to become action movie villains.

Don’t get upset if your professor or coach tells you to tone it down going 100% every time isn’t a winning strategy (unless you’re secretly trying to break the gym's record for "Most Choked Out Teammates").
